Death toll rises to 734 as Nepal floods enter 4th day

734 Dead, 2,500 Missing: Nepal Floods Enter Day 4

At least 734 people are confirmed dead in Nepal after flash floods and mudslides ripped through the Himalayas.

Nearly 2,500 people are still missing — including about 100 Americans.

It’s now day 4 of the disaster.

Rescue and Damage

Rescue teams from the Nepal Army, Police, and Armed Police Force have pulled 8,100 people to safety.

But entire villages along the Nepal-Tibet border remain cut off.

The damage:

  • Homes are gone
  • Bridges wiped out
  • Roads completely washed away
  • Power still out in many areas

The Scale

According to the Nepal Red Cross, 90,000+ people have been affected.

Of those missing:

  • 589 are foreigners
  • 261 have been rescued so far

Roads are still too damaged to get through in many areas. More rain is forecast — and for thousands of families, the wait for any news is still going on.
